How Baba Came Into Our Life – Anonymous Devotee

Anonymous Devotee from USA says: All please forgive me if I upset anyone by reading this. Please read the full story. As any child growing up in USA, I was blind to all faiths and more into what life has to offer me. I was 24 years old and had a good job in IT, driving an expensive car and lots of friends and party all weekend kind of person.

One day I was talking to one of my colleague in his cube and I saw a Baba photo. I was a fool and I said I don’t believe in any man pretended to be God “Baba Please forgive me for my past sins”. This offended my colleague and he said you should take it back. As a fool I said no and walked away. I didn’t feel bad for what I said and moved on with my life. Few months later, I have met love of my life and not knowing that she is a devotee of Baba. She always talks about Sai and we should go to Shirdi as usual I ignored it.



All things were well and we got married, but she was not able to migrate to USA with me due to immigration issue. So I have decided to bring her to Canada as a student and I will be travelling to see her every weekend. Due to my constant travel and requesting to work remotely, my manager and I clashed all the time. At work things started to go bad and I was frustrated. My Manager and I constantly disputed. I wanted to move out of the job and find something else, but I was not able to get a job due to job market and all IT Company was downsizing. I have applied for 100’s of job but no reply. So my wife and I had a long conversation and decide that I should move to Canada and we will start our life there. I will find some odd jobs until I find a suitable job in Canada.

During one weekend, visit to Canada, we decide to go shopping at a discount store. There I was walking around some old paintings and used frames. At that moment I noticed a very old photo looked like Hindu religious photo. It drew me like a magnet so I walked over and picked up the photo. At that time I didn’t know who it was or why I picked it up, but someone told me to do it. Om Sai Ram. I walked over to my wife and told her. Hey look what I found and I want to buy it. She was very happy that we found this photo off all the places in Canada, in a discount store run by Canadians. I can confidently say we are the only Indian’s that goes shopping there. I still had no clue that the photo was Baba, but I know I needed to take this photo home.

When we got home, my wife told me this is Shirdi Sai Baba. She cleaned the photo and the old wooden frame and applied sandalwood past and plastic garland. She prayed everyday and she asked me to pray as well, but I was stubborn so I told her that she could pray for me.

Then next Monday I got back to USA and out of the blue a recruiter called me about a job and if I was interested in moving forward. I said yes and she arranged for a phone interview. During this time the situation at work started to get worse by the day. So I called my wife and said I would like to quite the job. She said if you’re not happy then why don’t you move to Canada and we can be together. That moment I walked over to my manager and said I am done and walked out of the office. I packed my bags and moved to Canada. We hardly had any monies and I was desperately looking for an odd job, so I can continue to pay for our rent and other expenses. I burned all of my savings on our wedding and paying all the fees to get my wife to Canada.

Within 3 days, I got a call from the same recruiter asking me if I can do an onsite interview with the client in USA. I said ok and attended the interview and traveled back to Canada. During all this time my wife prayed to Sai Baba all day and night. She constantly asks me to join her in prayer, but I always refuse and watch TV. I eventually started to pray so I can make my wife happy.

I was still looking for a job in Canada and called all my friends and family yet no help. 1 week later, I get a call from the same recruiter and she wanted to know when I could join. My wife and I were so happy and she prayed and said thank You to Baba. This was Baba’s miracle yet I was still blind. Now, I will let you all know how Baba opened my eyes and attracted me to His feet. OM SAI SHRI SAI, JAYA JAYA SAI.

Sai, You are my guru. You are my God. You are my love and You are my Lord Ganesha. Few years passed, after I got my new job in USA and we are still going through the immigration issue for migrating my wife to USA. We tried pouring monies to expensive lawyers and called and written to Senator’s and Congressmen, but no luck. So we decided we should move on and start our family. During this time, we got good news from our doctor that my wife was pregnant with our
first baby. Om Sai Ram.

All this time my wife started to make me go to temples every time I was visiting her. I started to pray to Lord Ganesh. When my wife was alone, she reads Sai Satcharitra. Months passed and we are near the due date for our baby, but my wife was not in labor and due date passed. We got worried and she asked me to start reading Sai Satcharitra on a Thursday, so I did. She told me that I have to finish the book by next Thursday. The next week Wednesday night one of our friends called us for Dinner and we decided to join them, after a dinner around 10 pm my wife was feeling a little pain so we decide to go to our place.

Exactly on Thursday 2 am, my wife started to go into labor. On Thursday afternoon my wife gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Our Sai was born. One moth latter, I got a letter from immigration that all our issue was resolved and my wife can move to USA along with our baby. Om Sai Ram. Baba opened my eyes and showed me the way to His lotus feet. Ever sense then I am a dust beneath His holly feet. I am praying to Baba for His forgiveness for my past sins and accept my family and me as His own children.
With His grace, I had the chance to go to Shirdi with my wife and son.

After my family moved to USA, I contacted my coworker “the one I offended by saying that I don’t believe in Sai” via chat and he was very excited and happy for me. I still feel that I should see him in person and apologize for my foolish behavior. “OM SAI SHRI SAI, JAYA JAYA SAI”.

    Baba's ways are unique to Pull HIS devotees back. I also paid a price when I forgot my SAI.

    Now to All young devotees-DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON WEDDINGS- It is an advice.

    Pur all friends decided to had big weddings, on the other hand me & my husband did not take any penny from our parents from both sides, no gifts at all from anybody, Had very small traditional wedding, Instead we opened our businesses with the money we had.

    Now our friends are still stuck with their jobs & loans, & with SAI's Grace our businesses has bult up in last 5 years to large extent.

    So for first few years of earning, invest your money wisely.

  3. Oh I had tears reading your experience.
    You are really a blessed child of sai.
    You have a good and pure heart.
    Even my daughter who is doing her 2nd yr engineering was drawn by sai to his lotus feet.
    I compelled her to read satcharita.
    She started reading out of my compulsion.
    When her 3rd semi results were expected she was very tensed as one paper was very tough.
    I comforted her saying sai will help her.
    To her surprise she cleared all her papers with a first class when only 36 out of 160 students cleared all papers.
    Now she reads satcharita daily and also carries it with her to her college.
    I had always prayed to sai to be with my daughter.

  6. Baba i know u are our God.But i'm in pain but u hv n't listen my prayer. How much i suffer baba ,I hv no more patience. Meri sanman ki kisiko koi parwa nahin hai apko bhi nhi Baba. App to mere Baba ho na fir meri apko fiker kiyun nahin hai. Kya app mujhe apni beti nahi mante ya phir mujhe aapp pyar nahin karte ho. 16 sal se mein ye ek hi problem face kar rahi hoon jiski waje se mein apna sab kuch kho chuki hoon. Ab mere paas koi nhi hai aur kuch bhi nhin hai.Mujhe apke paas le jao Baba.       I, am an ardent devotee of sai , not really a devotee , he is a father 2 me,there are innumerable instances to b discussed, but let me share a couple of them with u all by SAI'S grace.
      It was during those days when i was gng through very hard times and sai was my only recluse, i was walking along the road when i suddenly saw a MAN clad in white gown
      was sitting on the footpath and meditating in a profuse transe in aYOGIC posture, that 2 in a hot summer afternoon, i saw HIM,and felt inspired,but as i looked back once again i could no longer see HIM , i came home and narrated the incident 2 my mom ,& she explained that u had SAI'S VISION, he appeared before u, i was power struck.
      Those days featured the serial based on SAI BABA, & i used 2 watch it religiously,
      that day while viewing the episode ,in my mind of minds' i asked SAI" was it u whom i saw today at the footpath? please enlighten me & gve me the answer baba",Immediately BABA sat in the exact posture as i saw HIM & THEN SAI SAID WHOSOEVER TRUSTS & LOVES ME I APPEAR IN PERSON IN ROADS PATHWAYS WAYSIDES RIGHT & LEFT, I AM ALWAYS OMNISCIENT AND OMNIPRESENT EVERYWHERE" tears started rolling down my eyes as i got my answer from BABA.
      The SECOND INSTANCE was, it was the day of LAKSHMI PUJA & i was desperately looking for a rose 2 offer it to SAI but i could n't find one,as the puja was about 2 begin my aunty fetched some flowers 2 b offered 2 LAKSHMI MATA, just then as i opened the packet i found a RED ROSE, i was overwelhmed, that was just the beginning of the SAI MIRACLE my aunty gave a call 2 my mom if we had received those flowers, my mom thanked her a lot emphasising that i was looking for rose & it was really grt 2 hve it as i was looking fr it desperately, my aunt replied with a great hue of surprise saying that she did not fetch any ROSE fr the shop did n't have 1 instead she bought a LOTUS,but i received it in the form of a ROSE SAI KRIPA,BOLO OM JAI SHREE SATCHIDANNANDA SATGURU SAINATH MAHARAJ KI JAI.

  20. BABA do I have jaundice? BABA please see that I don't have jaundice. BABA with pre-diabetes how can I go through this pain BABA. BABA if anything happens to me what will happen to my kids who are very young and what about my parents. BABA im scared BABA why this is happening to me. BABA I thought nothing bad or harm will happen to me as YOU are with me. BABA im very much scared. BAB I am going for the blood test for jaundice. BABA please see that the results are normal and I don't have jaundice and all these symptoms should of for flu only. All this week I was thinking these are flu symptoms which Im getting almost for every 2 months these days. But im not feeling hungry from past week. Now when I saw in internet they are writing all these are Jaundice symptoms. BABA please be with me and see that I don't have jaundice or any liver diseases. BABA please bless me with good health. BABA yesterday night YOU said I am through wrong path and YOU will show me correct path. Does that mean YOU are making me to go to blood work to know my disease as I was thinking this is just flu. BABA im scared. Please help me. I should not have jaundice or any other liver or any diseases. help me BABA

  24. I am facing the similar situation. My husband is not a devotee of Sai. He don't want me to worship for Sai. I am always hiding from him when I read Sai Satcharitra. Please pray for me so that my husband also be a devotee of Sai and we may pray together. He is actually talking a lot bad about Sai. Sometimes I feel that I should not tolerate this insult for my Baba. Baba please help me and all devotees please join me in my prayer to make my husband a devotee of Sai Baba

  32. Sai Baba changes the mind of a Atheist

    Sai Baba’s grace is not restricted to people of one religion. In Sai Satcharitra we have read that devotees of many religions visited Shirdi and had darshan of Sai Baba and were blessed. Even now devotees of many religions visit Shirdi or worship Sai in various temples. Here is one such story of a Parsi devotee.

    In 1965 her (unfortunately none of their names are mentioned) little daughter brought a photograph of Baba and placed it near the photographs of her ancestors. Before going to bed she looked at the picture and overwhelmed by love. That day was her daughter’s birthday i.e. Meher Roz (in Parsee). She hoped that with Baba in her home he would bestow his beatific grace on them.

    As her husband was out at sea she could not inform him, but she had a nagging doubt that he would be displeased. Unlike her, her husband did not believe in saints and fakirs. She feared that he in a fit of temper he would throw the photograph out. When his ship reached Calcutta port he wrote and said he would be home shortly. When he returned home and saw the picture he was shocked and asked her why she had put the picture there. She begged him not to remove it and as she had been praying to it all this while. And hoped he would not get rid of it.

    Then he told her that while he was at Calcutta he had a dream. Wherein he heard some one say “Look who has come” without opening his eyes he inquired as to who it was? He was told that it was Sai Baba, and he replied that he did not believe in him. The voice persisted again and again. The third time he opened his eyes and saw a ‘Glorious light’ the voice then slowly said, “This is Sai Baba”.

    Thus the husband and wife became ardent devotees of Sai and regularly visited Shirdi.

    I started belief in Sai Baba from the year 1972. Since then I rely on Him and accept His advice in my day to day life. My father Shri T. A. Ram Nathen also follows His footsteps sincerely.

    My wife Mrs. Lalitha Anand conceived our second baby in the month of April '84. As she had no responsible family member to take care of her delivery, I took charge of the total responsibility.

    On hearing from my father, Dr. Vijaykumar of Karnataka, who is also a close devotee of Sai Baba, I felt that I may pass through some problem due to callous treatment of doctors in Calcutta hospitals. I replied back to him, saying that Sai Baba is always everywhere. He will never allow His devotee to get drowned; but instead He will save him at the final hour.

    I admitted my wife in "Lake View Nursing Home" under Dr. Thampi's supervision on 3rd February 1984. Luckily the owner of the nursing home was also a Baba's devotee. Dr. Thampi too believed in Sai Baba right from her 29th year of age. Sai has even directed some of the patients through dreams to Dr. Thampi. I was relieved very much with the Sai relations and felt that the delivery will be most normal.

    Dr. Thampi started administering saline water right from 9.15 a.m. as my wife had no labour pains till I admitted her in the nursing home. At 3 p.m. on 3rd February ‘84 she slowly felt the pains and around 4 p.m. the pains became severe. I was waiting outside the lobby for hours together and felt restless and returned back home at Wederburn road with my Sai daughter, Sai Deepa. I switched on our lamp kept above the photo of Sai Baba and lit sandal wood sticks with sincere prayers to Him to release the baby at the earliest. It was 4.15 p.m. when I was requesting at our prayer room.

    Lo ! Sai Baba answered my prayer immediately as my wife delivered a female baby exactly at 4.15 p.m'….'the time of my prayer’. The star was Avittam and Lagnam Kumbha. I profusely thanked the Almighty for answering our prayers. My Father had a sigh of relief on hearing the news and also thanked Sai in answering his 6 week old prayer to Him.

    Now the naming problem arose as we were not ready with suitable names. Myself suggested to my father that “Sai Sudha" would be apt, which was immediately accepted. My mother Mrs. Vijyem Ram Nathen and younger sister Miss. T.R Geeta also were finalising the same name “Sai Sudha" at Budge.! Budge was 18 Kms away from our Calcutta residence.

    I am very much indebted to Lord Sai for blessing our family with Sai Deepa and Sai Sudha both in an auspicious time.

  42. Thank you Hetalji and the team for the amazing website and the services. Reading devotees experiences is like reading today's satcharita.
    Though i am a regular reader of the site I rarely leave a comment /reply.
    I always refer to Q&A on yoursaibaba.com. Many of the answers turned out to be true. Recently after reading some of the answers and the incidents followed ,I started worrying deeply about my husband's wellbeing. I went crazy with troublesome thoughts and kept on asking questions on the Q&A site. Baba reiterated the same answer in some form or the other. or may be it is my worry that's making me read things and interpret them negatively. But after reading some of the answers i got really terrified.. Recently baba advised me in the Q&A to seek guidance from a proper person. After thinking I felt it would be better if I can consult a saintly sai devotee. I live abroad and do not know of any saintly person here or in india whom i can speak to. It would be of tremendous help if any of you can provide me with contact details of a saintly person whom i can email/phone( it may be highly impossible, but i am hoping and praying so that i can relieve myself of the pain and constant worry.)

      Dont worry at all… Sai is hearing you and is constantly watching you. Just have faith in Him.
      It might be that He is testing your faith. So be firm in your faith and read some more devotee's experiences…You will feel good.
